Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit Shaker and Mama Elephant

Hey there!

I'm back today to share a couple of cards with you. I'm super excited about all of the new products that have come out lately! I have a stack, literally a stack of new things to play with. Some are new to the market, some are just new to me, but they are all soo much fun!

A couple of days ago I shared a card where I used the Charmed Stamp Set by Mama Elephant and I am so in love. So in love, I just couldn't make one card with it.

I also couldn't wait to dive in to the Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit! Seriously peeps, how fabulous is this kit?

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I will have links for you at the end of the post!

Halloween is my favorite holiday, but Summer is my favorite season so I'm going to start this post on that note. The Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit is summer in a box. To name a few, it has Martha Stewart Hearts and Stars Glitter, a Simon Says Stamp Exclusive Sunshine Die and Shimmery Cardstocks. The stamp set? Flip Flops people. Enough said.

I started by die cutting a piece of Neenah White Cardstock with the Tri Square Die by Simon Says Stamp. I wanted this for my card front, but I also used it for placement. I traced the three squares on a strip of Ranger Distress Watercolor Cardstock so I would know where to stamp my images. Which I did with Versamark Ink and Ranger Clear Embossing Powder

Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Mermaid Lagoon Ranger - Tim Holtz Distress Inks were my watercolor of choice for this card. Of course the Magic Fairy Dust Custom Blend of Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars that came in the kit was perfect for the little shaker windows.

I really dig the die that came in this months kit. I love the it can be used beyond just a summer theme. It is a delicate die, so for this card, I cut it out four times from Simon Says Stamp Sunshine Yellow Cardstock and glued them together. The sentiment was stamp with Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink and I filled it in with a Clear Wink of Stella Brush

Now, on to my next card. Again, I used the Charmed Stamp Set by Mama Elephant in my last post, but I really (really, really) wanted to use it again. Especially since, I didn't use that darling fox. I thought it would be fun to use the the same Tri Square Die as the shaker above, but I din't want to make this one a shaker.

These lovelies were stamped Hero Arts Black Ink and colored them with Derwent Inktense Watercolor Pencils and blended them out with a Zig Watercolor Brush. One they were dry, I added some Ranger Glossy Accents Owl's nose, crown, heart and the Fox's nose.

I had this background left over from another card I had done. I made it using the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Stencil and Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot

I kept this one simple and the only other thing I added was some DMC Metallic Gold Embroidery Thread and that was that.

I really look forward to using the Stamp Set again. Lovely is an understatement.

Okey dokey, that's it. I hope you enjoy!

Until next time!
