Newton's Perfect Pumpkin + Labor Day Sales

Hey folks!

If you follow me on Facebook and Instagram, you will have seen the lil sneak peak I shared yesterday of the card I'm going to share with you today. Let me just say, that it makes my heart do flip flops when I see all of the amazing support from you guys! Thank you BUNCHES!!!

Halloween wouldn't be the same without showing some Newton's Nook love. There are loads of great Fall and Halloween themed stamps out there this year and I can't wait to work with them, but I have a soft spot for darling Kitty's so Newton is first up! I have another card in the works with this same set, but my brown Copic's (Yes, plural. Boooo!) died, so until I receive the refills, it'll have to wait.

Newton's Nook is having a Labor Day Sale that runs until September 9th. Five dollars off you order of $25.00 or more, plus FREE shipping on orders of $50.00 or more. See website for details.

If you're interested in any of the products I've used I will have links (some affiliate links) throughout the post. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

Masking is hands down one of my favorite techniques. I LOVE to create a scene, even a simple one, and masking opens a door of amazing possibilities. I especially love to do masking when I use a Newton stamp. Making this guy more "interactive" on a card is the bee's knees. Plus, he's cute!

The Stamp Set I used is Newton's Perfect Pumpkin and I started by stamping Newton and his pumpkin and the two of the smaller Pumpkin on some Inkadinkado Stamp Masking Paper and cut those out. Next, I stamped Newton and his pumpkin again on a piece of Neenah White Cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. I used the mask I had cut to cover him up and stamped the smaller Pumpkin on both sides. then I simply colored everything with Copic's.

On a small strip of Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock, I heat embossed the sentiment that come in the Stamp Set in Versamark and Simon Says Stamp White Embossing Powder. I cut another strip of the same Cardstock and heat embossed the Bats found in the Stamp Set with Versafine Black Onyx Ink a Simon Says Stamp Clear Embossing Powder

I mounted the Card Panel and Bat Strip to a Simon Says Stamp Blue Violet Cardstock Card Base. The twine came with my Newton's Nook order and I'm not sure the manufacturer, but Lawn Fawn Tangerine Hemp Cord would be perfect here too!

To finish it off I added some Clear Wink of Stella and a couple Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

That's it peeps. While I'm waiting for Copic Refills, I will have another card from the Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit to share. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my card today!

Oh and before I go, Therm O Web is also having a Labor Day Sale. This one ENDS TODAY, so hurry! Free shipping on orders over $20.00. This is a good deal and a good way to stock up on supplies like Deco Foil without the added cost of shipping! Go check it out!

Until next time!

  1. Such an adorable card! Love the way you faded out the background and created the patterned paper strip with the set.
