Hey folks!
Today I'm here to share my second card from the Simon Says Stamp September 2015 Card Kit.
What a fabulous kit! I have had soo much fun with this! I seriously can't get over these balloons. I want to watercolor them and put them on everything! I won't, I'm just sayin.
If you're interested in any of the products I've used I will have links (some affiliate links) throughout the post. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.
This month's kit came with a tube of Dina Wakley Ranger White Gesso, which is a totally new experience for me. There are so many amazing things that can be done with this, but I decided to keep it simple and just use it with the Stencil that came with the kit.
Since I was trying to get a feel for how Gesso works, I simply taped the Stencil down on a piece of Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock and lightly applied it to the panel using a Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool. I carefully moved the Stencil around until it was completely covered.
For the Balloons, I stamped the Outline Balloon Stamp and the Small Bow three times from the Birthday Bits Stamp Set with Verasmark Ink on a scrap of Ranger Distress Watercolor Cardstock and heat embossed them with Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. After I watercolored the Balloons with Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor in Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean, I cut out all of my images, including the Bows.
I stamped the Sentiment and the Balloon Strings on a piece of Neenah White Cardstock and attached that to the Card Panel using Fun Foam and a Tombow Xtreme Tape Runner.
I used some DMC Metallic Gold Embroidery Thread for strings on the Balloons and attached them Panel with small pieces of Scotch Mounting Tape, then I carefully tied the Strings together at the bottom. To keep them in place and attach the Bows, I used a tiny bit of Tomboy Mono Adhesive.
That's it for now Peeps! I hope you enjoyed my card today.
Oh and by the way, I've created a new Facebook page for my blog. You can also find me on my other social media sites by clicking on the icons at the top of my page. I would love to see you there!
Until next time!
Cynde, your card is amazing! I really like how you embraced the white gesso on the black card stock. Now I will have to try it also. :-)
