Simon Says Stamp Pastel Coloring

Hey folks!

I'm back today to share a set of cards that I've done. I've had pastel colors floating around in my head for a few days now. The theme for the Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge was pastel and I couldn't seem to shake the thought.

So, I've just taken off like a house on fire and made several! I hope you enjoy!

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I will have links for you at the end of the post.

One of my favorite stamps sets is the Cups and Succulents Set by Simon Says Stamp. It is such a lovely set. I've used this set before and you can see Inktense and Simon Says Stamp Cups and Succulents HERE and Masking Multiple Stamps and Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit HERE or click on the links below.

This card was really easy. No masking, no fancy schmancy, just coloring. I stamped the images on Neenah White Cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. I started with a full panel, but trimmed it down with my Fiskars Paper Trimmer in the end.

Instead of trying to match pre-colored cardstock, I colored in a scrap of paper with the Red Copic's and the Grey Copic's that I had used on the Card Panel. I used a thin strip of Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock and a lil bit of Clear Wink of Stella and that was that.

Of course, watercoloring with Distress Inks never falls far behind in the coloring department for me. In fact, I'm pretty sure if someone told me I could only pick one, Copic or Distress Ink, I would have to quit life and become a burrito. I just wouldn't be able to choose.

For my first one, I went a little more bold. I stamped the images in Simon Says Stamp Black Ink and went with Ranger - Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean and Hickory Smoke (love!).

Using my MISTI Stamping Tool and the same Simon Says Stamp Curved Edge Die I die cut the panel with, I lined up the Simon Says Stamp Handwritten Borders sentiment on a Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock Card Base. Then, I heat embossed it with Versamark Ink and Simon Says Stamp Silver Embossing Powder.

On this one, I tried something a little bit different. This time I stamped the images in Simon Says Stamp Smoke Ink. I can't honestly say what my plan here was. No line watercoloring? Noo... Less visible outline? Maybe? I don't know.

This time I went with Ranger - Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick and Tumbled Glass and I mounted the panel on Simon Says Stamp Slate Cardstock. However, I did use the same technique and another sentiment from the same set as the card above.

I finished it off with Hero Arts Clear Gemstones and Clear Wink of Stella

Last, but not least, I also did a white version. For this one, it's all the same as the card above, but this time I used a Neenah White Cardstock Base and I mixed up the embellishments. For those I used some Silver Sequins from the Pretty Pink Posh Enchanted Garden Mix (Woot! New sequins!) and some more Hero Arts Clear Gemstones. Let's not forget the Clear Wink of Stella!

That's it! One thing I really love about making cards this way, is it's great to have them hand. I normally try to stay a month ahead, but this is an extra bonus. It helps build up the ol' stash. Ya know?

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Until next time!
