First up is a ver clean and simple card. On this card I'm using the new COWBOY LIFE Stamp Set. Western themes aren't typically something I'm drawn to, but when I saw this stamp set I was in love!
There's loads of ways you could use this set, but I wanted to go with something clean & simple. I wanted to keep the focus on these darling images.
There's loads of ways you could use this set, but I wanted to go with something clean & simple. I wanted to keep the focus on these darling images.
Before I started any stamping, I did stamp out a plan on a plain piece of copy paper. This way I could follow that plan in my MISTI Stamping Tool. Since I was going to be Copic Coloring, I used Hero Arts INTENSE Black Ink.
You can watch the video on how I made my card HERE. You can also click on the thumbnail link below.
If you originally followed along with the hop, I had to pull this video due to technical difficulties. I have since fixed the issue and this is an updated link! Thanks so much for your patience and understanding folks!
I did some pretty simple on all of my images. Some them are pretty tiny, so instead of trying to color in those tiny little spots, I went back over them with my Prismacolor pencils. I have my color choices listed in the thumbnail links below.
To finish off my card, I added some Sakura Clear Glaze to the band on the hat and the details on boots. I also added some Nuvo AQUA Shimmer and called it good.
For my next card, I wanted to so some ink blending. This is another really easy card to make. Even with the ink blending, you could easy make a set of these.
I started by diecutting a piece of Graffix Acetate with the Hero Arts SAFARI SUNSET Fancy Die. Then I put a an even coat of Tombow MONO Liquid Adhesive. Once you let it dry becomes temporary. You can see in the VIDEO how this work folks.
I used MULLED WINE, STRAWBERRY, TANGERINE and DANDELION Bold Hybrid Inks for my ink blending. I made to to build up the colors, but I definitely wanted them to be deep and bold.
You can watch the video on how I made my card HERE. You can also click on the thumbnail link below.
I wanted to be play up a black silhouette against the ink blending so I simply die cut my card panel with the DESERT SUNSET Fancy Die and stamped a sentiment from the COWBOY LIFE Stamp Set and I stamped that with UNICORN White Pigment Ink.
I added a few Nuvo Crystal Drops in MORNING DEW and called it a day.
That's it!

Both these cards are fabulous. I'm really glad that you were finally able to get the video for the Cowboy Life set up; I would have hated to see all the video work go to waste. Also, my sister used to work in rodeo, so I think she would really enjoy a card made with this set. And the desert nighttime scene? Perfect. I appreciate the idea of doing a little extra with the clouds to incorporate them into a scene; I hadn't thought of that before, but it makes a huge difference. Thanks for sharing!
