Hero Arts My Monthly Hero June 2016 Card Kit - Tags For Gifts

Hey folks!

I'm back today to share a really fun project with you! I really enjoyed this. It's a little out of the box, but it was fun. Also it was a great way to use several stamp sets that I've been wanting to use, but had nooo idea what I wanted to do.  Super duper.

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I have links (some affiliate links) throughout and at the end of the post. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

I got the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero June 2016 Card Kit and the Luggage Tag Alphabet Stamp Set Add-on. Sadly, the kit is sold out, but you can still get the Luggage Tag Alphabet Stamp Set. I tell ya peeps, these kits sell out fast and for good reason!

So, because this month's kit was travel themed, it comes with all sorts of really groovy travel dies including a luggage tag die. Love! The die cuts to make a card. Which I totally forgot to take a picture of...So, using the die, I cut six times with Neenah White Cardstock. I also used it to cut some Ranger Distress Watercolor Cardstock and cut those in half.

Using the MISTI Stamping Tool, I stamped all of the images with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink. It's a fabulous ink that works with any coloring medium.

Okey dokey, on this guy, I used the Hero Arts Origami Animals Stamp Set. I could totally do an entire set of these cards with this set. I really love it. I had other plans this time though.

I chose to keep everything pretty simple. I colored the image in with Copic's (colors choices below) and watered down a little bit of Ranger Distress Re-Inker in Black Soot and splattered it across the panel.

On the next two panels, I used the Newton's Nook Beautiful Wings (above left) and the My Favorite Things Fly-By Friends (above right) Stamp Sets. This time, I switched to Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.

For fun, I stamped both panels with the Hero Arts Luggage Tag Alphabet Stamp Set. This set is fab peeps! I will stamp all the things in this Alphabet and call it a day. Thank you.

The Hero Art MMH Kit came with 3 clear luggage tags, but I also had some Clear Luggage Tags in my stash. They weren't a great fit, but I think they work just fine.

On the next panel, I used the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Ranunculus Stamp Set and Ranger Distress Inks.

On this panel and all of the others, I used loads of a Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Pen to give them loads of sparkle. This was the only type of embellie I put on these. I wanted to keep the flat and easy to get in and out of the Tag Holders.

On the last 2 panels, I used the Mama Elephant Organic Blooms Stamp Set and I went back to using the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I wasn't sure how much I would like the image taking up almost the entire panel, but once I had them colored, I really liked it.

I added inspirational messages to the inside of each these, because I was giving them as gifts. Think more like a keepsake than a card folks.

For these three, I used the Clear Luggage Tags that came in the kit. Of course these worked perfectly with the tags.

That's it! Easy peasy.

ALSO, Simon Says Stamp is currently having a 20% off sale on all Tim Holtz Stamps, Stencils, Idea-Ology, Tonic, Ranger, Sizzix, Core'Dinations & Eclectic Elements. Use code TimRocks at checkout. Sale ends 6/26 at 11:59pm EDT, but do be sure to see the site for any details on the promotion!

Thanks so much for stopping by to see me and as always I hope you enjoyed my projects!

Until next time!
