Hey folks!
We're still playing with the A Blog Named Hero SPARKLE & SHINE Challenge! In today's video, I'm sharing a masked and ink blended envelope. I'm using the Hero Arts DREAM BIG Stamp Set because not only is it perfect to add sparkle and shine, but it's also fab for loads of bright bold colors.
You can watch the video on how I made my cards HERE. You can also click the thumbnail link below.
I needed an envelope to put a note in so that's why I did that today, but you could do the same thing on a card panel. In fact, a card panel would give you more room to add more images from the DREAM BIG Stamp Set.
Also, as you can see on my envelope there is a big empty-ish space. I left this blank on purpose, but you could definitely add a sentiment there if you like. Since this background is so dark, Hero Arts UNICORN WHITE Pigment ink would be just the ticket.
Since I was going for a no line coloring look, I used Hero Arts SOFT GRANITE Ink. I also used Distress Inks for my ink blending as I needed the reactive properties, but you could use Hero Arts ROSE MADDER, MULLED WINE and DEEP OCEAN if you like.
Be sure to check out the VIDEO folks. I talk about adding the Hero Arts WHITE IRIDESCENT Shimmer to my envelope. It does have a beautiful shimmer so I think it's a must have!
Since my ink blended background was so bold and vibrant, I needed to make sure that I chose colors for my images that complimented it, but also stood out on their own. I talk in the VIDEO on a few approaches to achieve that.
One of my favorite things about scenes like this is they speak for themselves. I feel you don't need to add a whole lot in the end to finish it off. I did add some sparkle to the planets and the clouds, but otherwise left it. Plus the Hero Arts DREAM BIG Set is one of those great sets that the main image, like this bouquet of planets, can really stand on its own if you want.
That's it!
There's a few days left to participate in the SPARKLE & SHINE Challenge folks! We love, love, love to see what you make and there are prizes available. Who doesn't love that?
