Hey folks!
Here we are peeps! It's 2016! Pretty sure the older I get, the faster time flies.
I love the idea and the look of a foiled card. I think they are soo spiffy, but I've held off on giving it a go until now.
If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I have links (some affiliate links) throughout and at the end of the post. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.
Posts like these make me really wish I did videos. Since I don't, this will be a tad bit longer than usual.
There are many, many foiling techniques out there, but for my card today, I wanted to Foil a Stamped image. A really amazing resource for foiling is Jennifer McGuire. You can check out her videos HERE.
I stamped images from the Cute Snowflakes Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp with Versafine Black Onyx Ink on Neenah White Cardstock. Then I scanned it into my computer. Given the type of scanner I have, I took one extra step and imported it into Adobe Lightroom. This is what I use for photo editing. I wanted to crop out the extra white space and make sure that my lines were solid black after scanning.
Then, I imported the Image into Pages (I'm a Mac user). I made one Card, but I duplicated the image so I had 4 Images on the page. I can make more later, if I want. Then I printed them out with my HP LaserJet Pro P1109w Printer.
I trimmed off some pieces of iCraft® DECO FOIL in Teal and Silver and placed the over the Images and ran it through my Heidi Swapp Minc Mini.
The corner of my Card Panel had a small run in with my Cat's wet paw sooo...I decided to fussy cut the edge of the image because there was no way I was scrapping this!
I heat embossed the bottom right of the Audrey Blue Card Base with a Sentiment from the Stamp Set using Simon Says Stamp White Embossing Powder.
To finish this bad boy off, I added some Doodlebug Design Lilly White Sprinkles and DMC Silver Embroidery Floss.
That's it! Over all it's pretty easy, it just takes a little bit of time because there are several steps.
In my last post, I showed a sneaky peaky of my card that's on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog. Those are live on the BRI Blog now so be sure to go check them out!
I hope you enjoyed my cards today!
Until next time!
