Newton's Nook STAMPtember Exclusive - Hello Fall with Plaid Stamped Background & Die Cut Magnets

Hey folks!

I'm back today to share a couple of cards with you. These were so much fun to make! Copic coloring is always my first choice, but I love it even more when I can break out the ol' ink pads and stamp away.

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I have links (some affiliate links) throughout and at the end of the post. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Release was soo great. There were oodles of really nifty things. It's no secret that I LOVE Simon Says Stamp, but what made this Release even more fantastic was the collaboration between Simon Says Stamp and other companies. Newton's Nook is definitely tied in my heart with Simon Says Stamp and I was over the moon excited to see the collaboration between the two.

The Stamp Set I used on these cards is the Hello Fall Stamp Set by Newton's Nook. It's a STAMPtember Exclusive for Simon Says Stamp. I just love it. Newton makes me happy on so many levels, but Newton and his friends? Yes, please!

I started by stamping all of my images with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink on Neenah White Cardstock. You can see my links below for my choice of Copic's. I knew that I would be using the Plaid Stamped Background that I had made (more on that in a minute), so I kept the Panels clean and simple and skipped the embellies.

So for the Plaid Background, I actually took a page out of Laura Bassen's book. Instead of trying to explain how I did it, you can check out her video HERE or I have a thumbnail link below. I used the Basic Stripes Stamp Set also in the STAMPtember Release. The colors I chose for mine were Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red, Burnt Orange, Khaki and Dark Chocolate. I also used Tsukineko Delicata Golden Glitz Metallic Pigment Ink.

To finish these guys off, I cut thin strips of DCWV Gold Foil Paper and a lil bit of Clear Wink of Stella and called it a day.

When I started these, I stamped them and colored them in. Then my Card Panels had a run in with our cat, Ginger and my cup of coffee. I managed to save 2 of them, but ONLY what I had colored (whew!). I didn't want them to go to waste, so I die cut the panels with a die from the Bundle of Stitched Shapes by Simon Says Stamp. Then I laminated them with a Tyh Supplies Laminating Pocket and my Royal Sovereign Laminator. I trimmed them down and applied a small piece of sticky back magnet (I've had in my stash for ages). Easy Peasy and they look stinkin cute on my fridge.

That's it peeps! Halloween is almost here and I have one more Halloween themed card to share with you. I will be using the Hey Pumpkin Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp! If you haven't already, go checkout the Create Joy Release from Simon Says Stamp and I can't wait to to start working with the Handmade With Love November Card Kit

In the meantime, I hope you've enjoyed my cards today! Don't forget you can follow me on Instagram  and on Facebook! I would love to see you there.

Until next time!
