Masking Multiple Stamps and Simon Says Stamp August 2015 Card Kit

Hey folks!

I'm back today to share the cutest lil kitty in town! More on that in a moment.

Have you seen the Simon Says Stamp August 2015 Card Kit? If you haven't, go check it out! It's called Summer Sunshine. I can't wait to get my paws on mine! It's so summery and the colors look Devine with a capital "D".

So. While scrolling through Pinterest the other day, I happened to come across a Card that Sandy Allnock had done. I think Sandy is a rockstar and personally I think anyone who makes a card with a chicken in a pot is okey dokey in my book. I also think that everyone should have a chicken stamp in there stash. For real. She used the Chicken from Simon Says Stamp Birthday Farm Animals and it is so off the hook, I just ordered it.

Speaking of ordering new stuffs, Newton's Nook has some more fantastic stamps and dies (yes dies!) out. Be sure to go check those out!

Ok. No chicken? How about a cat?

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I will have links for you at the end of the post!

Sandy used the Pot from the Cups And Succulents Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp and so did I, but I think one of the Cups in the set would be really cute too. All of the images, with the exception of the Sentiment, were stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink on Neenah White Cardstock. I used Simon Says Stamp Black Ink for the Sentiment.

The fabulous feline is from Birthday Bash by Newton's Nook. I just LOVE these cats. The Stamp normally holds a balloon, but I wanted to take it a step further and do a lil bit of masking. I used small pieces of Post-It Tape and masked off the balloon and a little bit of his tail before I stamped him.

So this is where it got a lil tricky. I stamped the cat stamp again on some Post-It Tape and cut the balloon out. That left his body and paws. I placed the masks over the stamped image on my panel. I then used the largest Rose from Newton's Nook Love Grows. I kind of had to hold the clean stamp over the Cat to see where I wanted it to go. As I held it over the cat I would take a piece of Post-It Tape and apply it to the parts of Rose I didn't want to stamp. When I got it masked off where I wanted, I inked it up and then stamped it over the cat. This was a one shot gig. If I hadn't stamped the Rose in the right spot, I would have had to start over. yeah. I would have cried. Seriously. It worked and I did a happy dance, so moving on!

I used the Hello Stamp from Handwritten Borders by Simon Says Stamp for the sentiment. These are really great and I'm so glad they are now a part of my arsenal. I can see where these will be great for all sorts of cards!

This would be awesome in watercolors, but I wanted to go the Copic route, and I love Red and Blue-Green together so that's what I did!

No embellishments this time, for this girl. Instead I just trimmed the panel and put it over a piece of Bazzill Tahitian Princess Cardstock.

That's it peeps! I'm pleased as punch. I hope you like it!

Until next time!
