Newton's Nook Love Grows With Watercoloring And Simon Says Stamp Stenciling

Hey folks!

The last time I ordered products, I made a point of buying things that were going to have some longevity and versatility in my stash. When I do that, I'm always a lil nervous if I've made good choices. Let's face it peeps, the bank account is not bottomless and I like to spend my dough wisely.

I can't say that I am disappointed with any of the products I've used on this card. They are all wonderfully versatile and so exciting to use!

I made two cards using some new stuffs (some are new, new and some are new to me), I'm sharing one today, but stay tuned, because I will share the other with you all soon.

I just loove a versatile stamp set. I recently ordered the Love Grows Stamp Set by Newton's Nook. This is a Mother's Day set, but I can think of so many different uses for it and that is just fine by me!

Something else I find super useful are stencils. I admit, I don't use them often, but they are a great "go to" when you need a lil somethin in the background. Besides they're fun to use! Inks, pastes, embossing powders...the possibilities are virtually endless folks. The Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Stencil is no exception. It's a fabulous stencil and would work on so many levels.

I masked off the Roses and Leaves with Inkadinkado Stamp Mask Paper on a piece of Ranger Watercolor Cardstock. Hero Arts Black Ink is almost always my ink of choice for watercolor. I then die cut around them with a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle Die (another must have for any cardmaker, I promise). I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens to color in the Roses and Leaves. I simply colored in the "U" with a gold gel pen.

I've had the Tsukineko Delicata Golden Glitz Metallic Pigment Inkpad for ages, but I never use it (shame on me, because it really is a dream to work with) and thought it would be a great ink to use with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Stencil. I really wanted those lines to pop and this did the trick.

For some more added interest, I used a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die and a piece of Neenah White Cardstock to put behind the Roses and Leaves Stitched Circle.

With all of the Gold Stripes going on, I kept the embellishments simple. I used a lil bit of DMC Gold Embroidery Thread and Ranger Glossy Accents and called it a day.
