Hey folks!
I'm back today to share another card with you and some wonderful news! Hang in there with me today boys and girls, I've got oodles to share.
Jennifer McGuire has launched her Share Handmade Kindness Challenge and I gotta say peeps, I LOVE this idea, but more on that in a minute.
It's time to start restocking my Birthday Card Stash and I love Balloons, so this was a great start.
If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I have links (some affiliate links) throughout and at the end of the post. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.
The possibility for most Dies are endless. There are no hard and fast rules that say, you have to strictly die cut, then attach that Die Cut to your card and call it a day. Now, I'll be honest, I don't buy a lot of Dies. I don't have a specific reason, I just don't. They can be a GREAT investment though! I know there are machines out there that will die cut your images (I have a Cameo), and while I may not buy Dies a lot, I think they have their own special place in our crafty world.
For my card today, I decided to make Masks by using the Balloon Dies by Simon Says Stamp. I can think of soo many other things to do with these particular Dies (I mean, HELLO, they are AH-MAZING!), but I was a little limited on time, so this was perfect.
I started by die cutting some Inkadinkado Stamp Masking Paper with 3 of the Dies from the Set. Starting with the negative of the largest Balloon, I placed it on my Neenah White Cardstock Panel. I then used a Ranger Ink Blending Tool and added Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass Ink.
I removed that Negative Mask and replaced it with the Positive Mask from the same Die Cut and then added the Negative Mask of the second largest Balloon. I used another Ranger Ink Blending Tool and used Simon Says Stamp Orange Peel Ink and Simon Says Stamp Green Apple Ink for the smallest Balloon. You can also check out This Post by Jennifer McGuire. As always her videos are fabulous and super duper helpful! For the Balloon Strings and Bows I used the String and Bow Stamp from the Birthday Bits Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp with Simon Says Stamp Slate Ink.
The Stitched Rectangle Die from the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes Die Set was used to trim the panel and I heat embossed a Sentiment from Birthday Bits with Versamark Ink and Simon Says Stamp Silver Embossing Powder on a piece of Neenah White Cardstock. I trimmed that down and mounted it on top of a scrap of Simon Says Stamp Fog Cardstock. I used this Cardstock for my Card Base as well.
To finish it off, I added a couple of Little Things From Lucy's Cards Muted Metallics Sequin Shaker Mix . That's it! Easy Peasy.
Also, Shari Carroll does an amazing job putting together Color Coordinates Recipes for Simon Says Stamp! I used the one you see above as my inspiration for this card. Picking out colors are usually not a problem for me, but it was awesome to just grab my inks and go, just by using this. This one is an oldie, but still a goodie! So, enough about me, let's talk about Jennifer McGuire and her Share Handmade Kindness Challenge!
Throughout the month of November, Jennifer will be challenging folks to share an act of Handmade Kindness with someone. A card, note, treat, anything Handmade counts. Each week there will be a new challenge on her website. If you're interested head on over to www.jennifermcguireink.com and if you decide to share your Act of Kindness, be sure to use #sharehandmadekindness. This week the challenge is to focus on sharing something with a friend or family member.
While I won't be sending today's card to anyone in particular yet, I will have some here in the next few days. I don't sell my cards, but I do send them out to my friends and family all of the time. I love the idea that when they see my Pink Envelope in the mail, they know they're getting a card from me. My is hope is I'm putting a bright spot in their day!
Last, but certainly not least, to support the Share Handmade Kindness Challenge, Hero Arts has created two stamps with messages of kindness. They are donating 25% of the profits to the Kind Campaign to help end bullying. I am a survivor of bullying and while my kids are fortunate to be spared (for the most part) from the ugliness of this, we see it all to often. It's a wonderful cause that's totally worth the support!!
That's it peeps. Up next will be some Wplus9 Autumn Leaves love and loads of Copic Coloring!
In the meantime, I hope you've enjoyed my cards today! Don't forget you can follow me on Instagram and on Facebook! I would love to see you there.
Until next time!

ReplyDeleteThank you Ruby!! :)
DeleteIts easy-to-stitch and adjustable nose strip help the mask to fit any user. It helps reduce the risk of bacterial disease and odor. So, when it comes to face protection, the Carbon 4 Ply mask is definitely worth the price
