Simon Says Stamp May 2016 Card Kit - Copic Coloring + Sales

Hey folks!

I'm back today to share a quick card with you all! PLUS there are some really great sales going on this weekend! I'll have those at the bottom of my post, but first...

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I have links (some affiliate links) throughout and at the end of the post. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

I'm a huge fan of Simon Says Stamp Card Kits! For my card today, I used the May 2016 Card Kit which is called Showered With Love. Sadly, the Kit itself is sold out, but Simon Says Stamp is awesome, so you can always get everything individually (see thumbnail links below).

Using some of the images from the Happy Days Stamp Set that's in the kit, I started by making masks for them with Post-It Tape. I knew I would be doing some ink blending later and I find Post-It Tape holds up really well to that.

I stamped the images in Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink on Neenah White Cardstock. I used my MISTI Stamping Tool, because I almost always stamp something cock-eyed if I use a regular stamp block. It's what I do.

I colored all of my images in with Copic's (see colors in thumbnail links below) and I thought about sticking to the colors that are in the kit, because they are some of my Simon Says Stamp faves, but I decided to go for a more primary color look.

I am still having technical difficulties with my Copic N0, so after I started shading in one of the clouds, I had to come up with Plan B. Soooo...I stamped 2 more clouds, making sure to mask off the lil face and covered them in Versamark Ink, then worked in Some Ranger Perfect Pearls in Perfect Pearl. After I cut them out, I lined up the one that would "go behind" the kite and lightly drew a line so I could cut off  that side, then ran both clouds threw my Xyron Sticker Maker.

Before I put the clouds on to the panel, I masked off the images, and used a Ranger Ink Mini Blending Tool to add some Simon Says Stamp Island Blue and Surf Blue Ink around them.

I then die cut the panel with the largest Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Die and added LOADS of Clear Wink of Stella to the Kite and the Sun Rays. I also used a Uniball Signo White Gel Pen for the Kite's cheeks.

To finish it off, I add a few Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and mounted the panel to a Simon Says Stamp Lipstick Red Card Base.

That's it! Easy peasy.

Okey dokey, in case you've missed them, there are a few sales STILL going on peeps. All of these are good until tomorrow. Do be sure to check out the details on each store's site though.

Simon Says Stamp is running a Stock Up Sale on Ranger - Tim Holtz Products. 20% off is pretty spectacular. This is a fabulous way to stock up for the upcoming Online Card Classes. Which is something else that's totally worth checking out folks!

Studio Calico is doing 20% off site wide and past kits as low as $5. Can't beat that!

Pretty Pink Posh is having a sale as well. There you can get 10% in stock stamps and dies. My wallet hates me...

Last, but certainly not least, the sale at Sizzix is up to 90% off select items aaand free standard shipping on order $175 or more.

Thanks so much for stopping by to see me today and as always I hope you enjoyed my card today!

Until next time!
