Hey folks!
I'm here today for the Spellbinders March Release Blog Hop! In today's video, I'm sharing how I use dies from the Stephanie Low Good Vibes Only Collection to do some quick and easy watercoloring. These cards are a breeze and awesome for mass producing!
Spellbinders also has a GIVEAWAY folks! To celebrate this release, Spellbinders is giving away a $50 gift certificate to a lucky winner. Please leave a comment on SPELLBINDERS BLOG by Sunday, March 18th 11:59 pm EDT for a chance to win. The winner will be announced in the blog hop post on Spellbinders blog the following day. Winner is responsible for shipping cost, duties and taxes.
You can watch the video on how I made my cards HERE. You can also click on the thumbnail link below.
STEPHANIE LOW is one of my favorite designers for Spellbinders. Her style is very rock n' roll and I love it! However, I decided to take a little bit different approach to my cards with the WANDERING BUTTERFLIES Dies.
I die cut several of the WANDERING BUTTERFLIES from Neenah SOLAR WHITE Cardstock. I knew Iw as going to keep these a plain white so once I had run them through my Spellbinders PLATINUM 6 Machine I set them aside.
I used a square dies from the The Shapeabilities Four Seasons SILHOUETTES Etched Dies Four Seasons by Lene Lok and die cut four Neenah SOLAR WHITE Cardstock panels. I also trimmed them down to 4"x5.25" and set those aside.
I cut several pieces of Tim Holtz DISTRESS Cardstock so they would fit just behind the windows in my card panels.
I wanted to do some watercoloring, but I really wanted to keep it simple. So I decided to take an old but a goody approach.
I haven't done this in awhile, but layering watercolors is such an easy way to pull together a card. In fact, it's so easy, it's a great way to mass produce.
Do check out the VIDEO folks, because I do have a few things I talk about with this technique.
I wanted colors that really popped since I was going to attach those stark white butterflies. I have all of the inks I used listed in the thumbnail links below.
You could use any sentiment you like. You could even skip it altogether. I love the Hero Arts ACTS OF KINDNESS Stamp Set and I thought it would be perfect.
Using my MISTI Stamping Tool, I heat embossed sentiments with VERSAMARK Ink and Hero Arts SILVER Embossing Powder.
I show how I do this in the VIDEO, but I mounted the panel with 3M FOAM TAPE on top folding A2 top fold card bases.
To finish off my cards, I added GLOSSY EGGSHELL PEARLS by Little Things from Lucy's Cards.
Thats it! I have linked below al the stops on the Hop! Check them out!
