Winterhaven Stamp of Approval + Ink Blending A Scene

Hey folks!

I'm back today to share another card for the Winterhaven Stamp of Approval release! The Collection goes live to anyone who didn't get on the Waitlist today! Woot! I should warn you that the Collection may be sold out by the time this post goes live. I still wanted to share with you because I want you to see how great these are. Then you can be on the look out for the next Collection aaaaannnnd the technique I'm sharing with you today can be down with ALL SORTS of stamp sets!

We had 3 AH-mazing days leading up to today. I tell ya folks, I feel so humbled to work next to all of these wonderfully talented ladies and Catherine is the best! ALSO! It's going to take me some time to get through all of the comments, but a huge THANK YOU to all of you!!

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I have links (some affiliate links) throughout and at the end of the post. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

Now, the majority of the work that went into this card was the ink blending, but I was looking for a way to showcase the images from the Here We Come A-Caroling Stamp Set. I'm not a huge fan of stamping in color although occasionally I will play around with stamp layering. So, my plan was to use a technique that I'm familiar to set the stage so to speak.

With Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper, I cut out a mask for a the moon (I used a small bowl I had on my desk, but I have a link below for the Catherine Pooler Circle Dies) and several masks using the Hill Die from the Winterhaven Die Set.

I used Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tools to do all of the ink blending on my background. My favorite winter colors are the Catherine Pooler It's A Boy, Fiesta Blue, Something Borrowed and Flirty Fuchsia Inks blended together.

I used a Sponge Dauber and It's A Boy ink to add the shading to the hills with the Inkadinkado Masks I had made. Be sure to watch the video to see exactly how I put all of this together!

I added a little more detail to the hills by using a Versamarker along the edges and heat embossing them with a clear sparkling embossing powder

I stamped my images with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed those with WoW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder.

To give the moon a little bit of shimmer, I took a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay Glitter Pen and went just round the edge, then blended that toward the center of the moon, just a smudge, with my finger.

To finish off my card, I used a Uni-Ball Signo White Gel Pen to add some extra stars to the background. This help balance the white from the moon and the snowy hills.

That's it!

Be sure to check out the video to see how I made this card today. I sure you hope you enjoyed my card and as always, THANKS so much for stopping by!

Until next time!
