You Lift Me Up

Hey Folks!

Today I want to share a card I made using the stamp set by In A Creative Bubble for Studio Calico. I received this set in the "Cirque" February Card Kit.

My craft room is almost put back together, at least until I can replace the flooring, so I thought I'd make a fun card.

This kit has so much to offer and I love every bit of it, but this stamp set makes me especially happy! Hot air balloon, funky lil clouds, and the font are fabulous! The only thing I used out of the kit for this, was the stamp set. It has a 6x6 pad full of fabulous papers and some really cute embellishments. Love!

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I will have thumbnail links at the end of the post!

Not one to pass up an opportunity to break out the ol' Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Inks, it is all over this card! I am by no means an expert in watercolor, but I love it so. You know those car insurance commercials with that pig? That's me with these inks and a watercolor brush. It's the little things.

All I did, was stamp my images with Versamark and Ranger Clear Embossing Powder on a piece if Ranger Watercolor Paper. Using Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Inks for watercoloring is fun all by itself, but I gotta say, the part I enjoy the most is taking the ink pad and squishing it down on my Craft Sheet when before I start coloring. It really does make me want to start saying WEEEE!!! Does anyone else ever feel this way?

I have 3 Zig Watercolor Brushes in different sizes,  I like to use. I think any watercolor brush would work just fine, but I like the option of a water filled brush and also I like that these are a bigger pen style. Turns out, torn finger ligaments take forever to heal and I still struggle a lil bit at times. These brushes don't bother my fingers a bit. This is what I used to apply the inks. Really, it was just about playing around.

In the end, I decided to use some Bazzill Cherry Splash Cardstock out of my stash and mount the panel on that. I don't use red very often and I liked how it tied in with the balloon. I also made 3 lil Seagulls using Ranger Glossy Accents. You can't tell in the picture but I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the Sun, Ballon and Water Peaks. This is something else I can't get enough of. It's so sparkly and fun...

Well, that's it. Easy peasy.

Until Next time!
