Hey folks!
I am over the moon excited about the September 2015 Card Kit by Simon Says Stamp. Not only does it feature my most favorite Simon Says colors, but it just has Fabulous (yes, capital "F") written all over it! I'll be honest, it's a rare thing when I look at an entire stamp set and can't decide which one to use first.
If you interested in any of the products I've used, I will have thumbnail links for you at the end of the post!
I'm a sucker for any stamp set I can color in. I'm a five year old at heart (Ha! Who am I kidding? I'm just a five year old. Period) and I LOVE to color. It's even better when the images are big. The Balloons in this set are just that, and although I plan on stamping them in ink at some point, my first card just had to be watercolored. I like to stick to the Card Kit colors so I went with Ranger Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio and Tumbled Glass was a close match for Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue.
I love, love, love the Balloons, but I also really dig all of the little images in the set too. I stamped a few of those in Hero Arts Black Ink and then heat embossed the Balloons with Versamark Ink and Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder. I used the same Embossing Powder for the Sentiment from the set on a strip of Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock.
I masked off the Balloons with Inkadinkado Stamp Masking Paper because I wanted to try something different. Well, different for me anyway. I added some Ranger Distress Paint in Black Soot on to my Craft Sheet and mixed in some water. Then I loaded up my Watercolor Brush and tapped it off on to my card.
The final touches when I assembled the card, were a strip of Simon Says Stamp Black Cardstock, DCWV Fold Foil Cardstock and a few Craft Medley Sequins. Done. Easy Peasy.
Can NOT wait to play with this kit some more. Don't forget peep, Simon Says Stamp Stamptember Release is September 1st! Also, Lawn Fawn recently had one as well and they are so cute, I can't stand it! Follow the link below to check out Lawn Fawn's new goodies, if you haven't already.
Until next time
Loving this card as well. I love the touch of stamping the black "confetti" shapes across the balloons - it definitely gives the design a even more classy and "artsy" feel to it. GREAT card!
