Hello Sunshine

Hey folks!

I belong to a fun lil crafty community on Facebook called Stamping Enablers. Let me tell ya, watching the look on my husband's face when I told him the name of this group was priceless! Bwahahaha!! Seriously though, it's a great community. While you're not likely to find anyone telling you NOT to exceed your craft budget, there's more to it than that. It's a community for crafters (mostly card making) at all stages, beginners and advanced, from all over. It's a great place to share your projects, ask questions, get advice, and share your knowledge. It's groovy.

A couple of weeks ago, one of our SE peeps asked if we would be willing to send handmade cards to her Momma. Her mom has had a pretty rough go lately with some health issues and was feeling pretty down. Seriously people, what is better than getting a smile in a hot pink envelope? Nothing!! Ok, maybe chocolate cake for breakfast, but that's a story for another day.  Of course, I said yes!

Even though my entire craft room is packed up and currently resides in my husbands guitar room, I had to say yes! First off, it just fills me up to make someone smile, with just a little bit of paper and some ink. Such a simple thing. Secondly, I've had this wicked streak lately and just can't seem to get enough of torturing my husband with my hobby. So I climbed over couches, shelves and tubs (his room is packed!) and grabbed what I could to help make a happy Momma!

If you're interested in any of the products I've used, I will have links for you at the bottom of this post.

I think I lucked out on several levels. My tools were sitting out in an open box, so that was handy dandy, but also when I was playing Kamikaze Crafter and scaling furniture, I found the box with the inks I had put together for another project sitting on top. I made a pretty card and didn't break my neck! Woot!

I had just received the Sending You Sunshine Stamp Set by 1Canoe2 for Studio Calico and thought the Flowers, Leaves and Sunshine sentiment would be perfect! I stamped the Flowers and Leaves in Hero Arts Lemon Yellow and Mint Julep and Simon Says Stamp Orange Peel and Audrey Blue. The sentiment Sunshine, is stamped in Versamark and Ranger Princess Gold Embossing Powder, which I die cut with Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Die. The lil Bee is stamped in Lawn Fawdamentals Hippo Ink.

That's it! I mounted the panel on a piece of Simon Says Cardstock in Mint (such a lovely color) and mounted those on a Neenah 110# Cardstock base. Easy Peasy.

She has since received her card and loved it. She loved all of her cards and from what I hear, she is feeling so much better. That, my fine folks, makes it all worth it!

Until next time!
